Where the TB or SAM has a picture

Unless stated otherwise, where a page in the TB or SAM is assigned, you should complete
all activities on that page.

Russian transcript looks like. Print out a copy and fill in as much information as
you can about yourself. (For comparison, you might also want to look at Julie’s transcript from her studies in Russia last
summer.)

following questions in writing in English:
- Does this sitelook like it is for a grade school or a university? Why?
- What time does the school day begin and what time does it end?
- Write does four subjects that the 1ый класс has on its schedule.
For M, 11-12 Recitation
- TB, pp. 123–24, review Grammar Section 8 and then write all activites on SAM, pp.
95–96.
- TB, pp. 126–27, Read Культура и быт sections.
- TB, pp. 132–33, read correspondence and write answers to questions in sections 1 and
2 in Russian.
- Prepare for quiz on all vocabulary and accusative case.
For T, 11-13 Lecture
- Listen and write SAM, p. 97 in Russian.
- Listen and write TB, p. 134 in English.
- Read Section 4-30, part 1 and 2 on TB pp. 128 and 130 (skipping for the moment
129). The read p. 129 and write the answers to exercises 2, 5, and 6 on pp. 130–31
in English.
- Bring SAM to class (we will watch the video and do some of the activities in class,
and you’ll need to hand in your answers at the end).
For W, 11-14 Recitation
- Reread TB, p. 129 and then complete exercises 4 and 3 on pp. 130–31 (in that order).
Write the answers to exercise 4 in Russian and the answers to exercise 3 in English.
- Write an essay about yourself as a student, of the sort that might be part of an
application to a study-abroad program. Among the things you might want to mention
are your name and nationality; where you are from, where you have lived, and where
you go to school; what subjects you take; what subjects you like and don’t like;
what your major is; what languages you know (and how well you read, write,
understand, etc. each of them—do you know them because of study, travel, or because
your parents speak them?); and what your grades are like. You should write
approximately ten sentences, trying to make your essay sound like a naturally
connected paragraph (as you would in a real application), rather than just a list of
facts.
