Examination 1 Grading

To grade Examination 1 we deduced two points for a serious error and one point for a less serious one, up to maximum of two points off per word. Numerical scores at the top of your page thus run from 0 (perfect) down. Your grade out of 100 is the number of points off subtracted from 100, so that, for example, if you lost 5 points, there will be a 5 at the top of your paper and your actual grade will be 100 - 5, or 95. To convert between numerical and letter grades see the general discussion of grading.

We are asking all students to meet with us individually for about ten minutes to pick up their examinations. This will provide an opportunity to discuss any particular problems with the material, as well as each student’s general experience with the course so far.
